Ajit Gupta, graduated from I.I.T. Kharagpur in engineering in 1970 and went off to work in England. The spirit of entrepreneurship brought him back to India in 1974, to do what he did best,
innovate and lead. Rapid Engineering Company was formed and started manufacturing
plastic products like polyethylene bags, followed by monofilament yarn and box strapping, etc. Enormous stress is laid on continual quality improvement and increasing customer satisfaction. The buyer is king in our organization.
In 1986 we diversified into LDPE Powders, at Okhla, for dip coating & fluidized bed coating on wire fabricated articles, like refrigerator shelves, fusible interlining fabric, carpet backing and rotational moulding. This business kept growing and we added another unit in 1995 at our Sahibabad factory. We now have 4 extruders for coloring and 4 pulverising mills with vibro-sieves, grinders and other necessary ancillary equipment. The total installed capacity is over 100 tons / month.
Rapid Roto Division: In 1989 we started using our own powders for manufacturing Rotationally Molded Plastic Water Storage Tanks with a capacity range from 100 to 2000 liters. A second line was added in 1991. This business is going on very well till date. We also manufacture large roto-moulded loudspeaker enclosures and custom mouldings.
In 1991 we added Rapid Coat brand of Epoxy & Polyester Thermoset Powder Coatings, at Okhla, with the help of CESO, Canadian technical know-how. These powders are used for electrostatic coating on metal components and sheet metal articles.
Rapid Coat Division: In 1995 we added a second line for Epoxy / Polyester Powder Coatings at our Sahibabad factory with a very well equipped laboratory.
A third line was added in 2003. Present installed capacity is approximately
200 tons per month. We now have 4 twin-screw co-rotating extruders with cooling belts and kibblers, 8 pulverising mills with pollution control equipment, 6 mixers.
Due to
increased demand a fourth line has been added thereby bringing
the
installed capacity from 150 Tons to almost 300 Tons per month.
Our laboratory has an Alpine air jet sieve for particle size analysis, Hunterlab computerised color matching spectrophotometer with EasyMatch software, Melting point apparatus, Precision weighing scales, Impact tester, Scratch & bend test, Salt spray test, Coating Thickness & Gloss Measurement, Coating guns, booth and oven etc.
In 2002/3 we shifted the Okhla factory to consolidate both at Sahibabad. Both the factories are located in clean authorised prime industrial areas and we are equipped with adequate power, generating sets (800 kva), water supply, telephones, computers, raw materials, finished goods, excellent machinery and laboratory equipment, spare parts and above all, a highly motivated & dedicated work force and staff. A dedicated and committed team of highly qualified engineers and workers, are able to ensure consistent high quality, and deliveries on time leading to a high level of customer satisfaction.
